I am directed by the Master of the Mint to acknow -
ledge the receipt of Mr Blake's letter of the 6th instant,
with reference to a fortnightly supply of $250,000 in ten
cent pieces for the Government of Hong Kong, and to state
that the Mint is not in a position to undertake this coinage
Should the Crown Agents concur in the proposal, I
would endeavour to make a monthly delivery of two millions
and a half of ten cent pieces, from July next, but no pledge
can be given that this out-turn can be maintained for any
considerable period of time without fail.

I am,
